An urgent prohibiton of all traffic restriction has been put in place to allow Westmorland and Furness Highways to carry out urgent highway repair works.

This notice will be in force for a period not exceeding 5 days from 9th May 2024. It is expected that the Works will take 2 days.

Location:U5527 Wrynose Pass, from its junction with the A593, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx 10km.

Alternative Route: A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be available via the A593, A595, C5007, U5032 and the unrestricted section of the U5527.

N.B: due to the nature of the works it is not possible to maintain access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists through the extents of the temporary road closure.

Access for Emergency Vehicles will not be maintained for the duration of these works.
