South Lakeland bring sites/recycling banks – Saturday April 1 – Sunday April 2

Summary

Residents wishing to use South Lakeland District Council's recycling banks on the weekend of Saturday April 1 and Sunday April 2 will experience some disruption.

Details

The switch to a new contractor from April 1 means that banks will be removed, the sites swept and cleaned and new banks installed at the 16 bring sites in South Lakeland over the weekend of Saturday April 1 and Sunday April 2.

This is a major operation and officers are working to minimise disruption. However, the sites will be closed at various times over the two days.

Our general advice to residents is to plan to avoid using the bring sites on these days. All materials which can be left at bring sites can be taken to the nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre. We are briefing South Lakeland District Council and Westmorland and Furness Council members, as well as town and parish councils, in advance and would appreciate any help in spreading the word in your communities. Information about the disruption will be displayed on the SLDC website and shared on the SLDC social media channels.

Posters will also be displayed at the sites warning users about the situation.
