Community Led Plan
To help the Parish Council know what you, the community, expects from us, we have in place a ‘Community Led Plan’. This is very useful regarding applying for and funding different local projects. The current plan is rather out of date and would benefit from some new volunteers and fresh ideas about where we can make positive changes in the community. We need your input and if you would like to get involved please get in touch.
Charter Day
A reminder that our thoughts are already turning to August 1st and Charter Day, an important day in the Parish calendar and that this year we are considering expanding the event and inviting stall holders to attend the celebrations. We have had some interest, but believe there is the potential for it to be bigger and better. If you would like to get involved please get in touch.
Playground
We are looking for a small group of parents, grandparents, carers, childminders who use the playground at Wilson Park, and have ideas about how it can be improved and the equipment upgraded for toddlers and younger children. The Parish Council is responsible for the park and there is funding that we can apply for, but you have the experience to identify the changes that are needed. This is an opportunity to improve the park and make it more inclusive for the very youngest in our community. If you would like to get involved please get in touch.
Potholes
Please keep reporting potholes. This can be done by going towww.westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk and clicking on ‘Streets, roads and pavements.’ The more frequently they are reported, the better.
Thanks
We would like to pass on our huge thanks to Jane Rousseau, Elaine Wright and the Meals on Wheels team who after 5 years are passing the baton on to Claire, Kellie and Anna at the Square Café. Your dedication and contribution to the community has been greatly appreciated.
The next Parish Council Drop In will be 10.45 – 12 noon on Tues 13th May at The Square Café.
